I read the first Chosen devotional and was so excited to see a second! As I mentioned in my review of the first devotional, I am not a devotional person, picking up devotionals with all good intentions and then never finishing them。 The Chosen devotionals are so different for me。 I have finished both of them and always was eager to read them each day。 The writing is down to earth, honest, challenging, straight forward, and the perfect length。 The prayer encouragements and questions at the end of I read the first Chosen devotional and was so excited to see a second! Wesley Hansen,
The Chosen (Book 2) has been a super uplifting set of 40 devotionals that focus on getting closer to Christ and taking that closeness and sharing it in the world。 It is a GREAT way to set time aside each day to think on God。 I can't wait for Book 3!! Greg Delaney,
This is the second of two (to this point) 40 day devotional books related to The Chosen, the first multi-season show about the life of Jesus Christ。 I have a very favorable impression of the first book, and a stronger positive reaction to this second effort。 While this devotional follows much the same template as that used in the first book, I think it encourages the reader to go more deeply into him/herself。 The authors took a rather bold step, in my view, by providing elements of self-disclosu This is the second of two (to this point) 40 day devotional books related to The Chosen, the first multi-season show about the life of Jesus Christ。 I have a very favorable impression of the first book, and a stronger positive reaction to this second effort。 While this devotional follows much the same template as that used in the first book, I think it encourages the reader to go more deeply into him/herself。 The authors took a rather bold step, in my view, by providing elements of self-disclosure in this second book, including the challenge of writing about Judas and being the parent of a child with special needs。 As a retired counseling professional, I am personally drawn to candor and the sharing of universal human challenges, two elements of this second devotional that are more prominent than the first。 The references to Scripture are completely relevant, but since the show's second season is not yet available to the public as of this review's creation, it will be interesting to see how closely the entries connect with the episodes themselves。 This second devotional seems to me in an overall sense to be even stronger than the first。 。。。more
